Compensation:

[Starting / Initial] Base Salary Pay Range: [$19.23- $43.26 per hour or $40,000 – $90,000 per year].

Commission: Commissions are earned on each sale based on product type:

  • 50% -150% of one month’s MRCs (monthly recurring charges)
  • 1/12 of one-time NRCs (non-recurring charges) &
  • 1/24 of Burst

[Tenured] Base Salary Pay Range: [$19.23 - $52.88 per hour or $40,000 - $110,000 per year] based on achievement of structured tenure based and performance based pay increases.

Specific offers within the listed pay ranges are determined by a variety of factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify new business opportunities within a prescribed Regional Sales Territory via sourcing and Hunting to identify new business opportunities within a global sales territory and target market segments of IP Transit, Content creators/hosters, Carriers/wholesalers and Netcentric companies.
  • Through direct calling, email and contact efforts you will identify, qualify, and generate these new business opportunities by working directly with Key Decision Makers.
  • Compliment prospecting and selling efforts through onsite customer meetings as needed.
  • Use consultative and relationship building selling techniques to identify current and future connectivity solutions.
  • Help Cogent customers and prospects by positioning our services for new business by leveraging the global network footprint that includes commercial and retail buildings, carrier neutral hotels, data centers and colocation facilities.

Qualifications:

  • 3-8+ years of solid, B2B sales experience in a telecom arena with collocation, wholesale experience and data transit and transport.
  • Proven experience with a track record of success in a direct hunting, B2B sales role and quota achievement.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, qualify and generate new business through extensive prospecting and research.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are a must.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment with revenue deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office and a CRM are a plus.
  • A college degree is preferred but not required.

Work Environment:

This is an in-office position five days a week to best support your success, allowing for focused mentorship, training, and personal coaching

Position Overview:

The Sales Director will be responsible for leading and managing a team of 7-10 Global Account Managers (GAMs) based in Paris. This role’s prime adjective is to drive new business development, ensure revenue growth and develop a high-performing sales team. The Sales Director will set strategic direction, coach and mentor sales professionals, and directly contribute to Cogent’s ongoing success in the region and globally.

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of up to 10 Global Account Managers (GAMs) to exceed sales targets.
  • Provide sales training, coaching, and guidance to enhance team performance.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to track progress and support GAMs in achieving their goals.
  • Foster a high-energy, competitive, and results-driven team culture.

Sales Strategy & Business Growth:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive new customer acquisition and revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with regional and global leadership to align sales strategies with company objectives.
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand market presence in France and globally.
  • Track market trends and competitor activity to optimize sales efforts.

Performance Management & Reporting:

Client Engagement & High-Value Deals:

  • Actively engage with high-value clients and support GAMs in closing complex, high-revenue deals.
  • Maintain strong C-level relationships with key accounts to drive business expansion.
  • Lead by example by participating in client meetings and negotiations.
  • Maintain and update detailed records of sales activities in CRM systems, tracking progress, and managing customer relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of success in B2B and Wholesale sales channels, preferably in the telecommunications, technology, or data services industry.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in sales management with a focus on driving revenue growth.
  • Experience managing a team of sales professionals, preferably in a high-performance, quota-driven environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with a passion for motivating and developing sales teams.
  • Ability to manage complex sales cycles.
