Compensation:

[Starting / Initial] Base Salary Pay Range: [$19.23- $43.26 per hour or $40,000 – $90,000 per year].

Commission: Commissions are earned on each sale based on product type:

  • 50% -150% of one month’s MRCs (monthly recurring charges)
  • 1/12 of one-time NRCs (non-recurring charges) &
  • 1/24 of Burst

[Tenured] Base Salary Pay Range: [$19.23 - $52.88 per hour or $40,000 - $110,000 per year] based on achievement of structured tenure based and performance based pay increases.

Specific offers within the listed pay ranges are determined by a variety of factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify new business opportunities within a prescribed Regional Sales Territory via sourcing and Hunting to identify new business opportunities within a global sales territory and target market segments of IP Transit, Content creators/hosters, Carriers/wholesalers and Netcentric companies.
  • Through direct calling, email and contact efforts you will identify, qualify, and generate these new business opportunities by working directly with Key Decision Makers.
  • Compliment prospecting and selling efforts through onsite customer meetings as needed.
  • Use consultative and relationship building selling techniques to identify current and future connectivity solutions.
  • Help Cogent customers and prospects by positioning our services for new business by leveraging the global network footprint that includes commercial and retail buildings, carrier neutral hotels, data centers and colocation facilities.

Qualifications:

  • 3-8+ years of solid, B2B sales experience in a telecom arena with collocation, wholesale experience and data transit and transport.
  • Proven experience with a track record of success in a direct hunting, B2B sales role and quota achievement.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, qualify and generate new business through extensive prospecting and research.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are a must.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment with revenue deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office and a CRM are a plus.
  • A college degree is preferred but not required.

Work Environment:

This is an in-office position five days a week to best support your success, allowing for focused mentorship, training, and personal coaching

  • Answer incoming phone calls from Cogent's customers on their Layer 1, 2, and 3 services
  • Work with Cogent customers via phone and e-mail to identify and resolve their service related issues
  • Clearly document all steps taken to identify and resolve a customer reported issue
  • Manage a queue of customer created tickets, ensuring that customers are updated with their status and progress is being made towards resolving their issue
  • Work with and coordinate effectively with all members of the Customer Support team, other Cogent teams, as well as vendors in order to ensure swift resolution of customer issues
  • Ability to work professionally with customers, vendors, and internal groups under all circumstances
  • Manage customer expectations and escalation and de-escalate the situation as necessary

Requirements:

  • Cisco equipment experience and certifications
  • Strong technical knowledge in the area of networking (TCP/IP), IP protocols (BGP, IGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS...), IP addressing, DNS's and IP-VPN's is desired

Job Summary

The International Controller will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of our international subsidiaries and ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards. This position will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial reporting, driving process improvements, and supporting strategic decision-making. Duties and Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for international subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with USGAAP and local GAAP.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial reporting processes and controls.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insightful commentary on financial performance.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management.

Controlling & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
  • Manage the annual audit process for international subsidiaries.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Monitor and manage foreign currency exposure.
  • Manage transfer pricing documentation and compliance.

Process Improvement & Systems

  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve financial processes and systems.
  • Optimize the use of ERP systems and other financial tools.
  • Drive the implementation of best practices in financial management.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, Maintains financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
  • Collaborate with internal local finance teams and other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Act as a key point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage the relationship with local authorities and service providers.

Educational & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in Accounting, or a related field
  • Ideal candidate has 10 years+ of experience in field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
  • Previous experience as a manager, proven ability to manage and develop a team
  • Excellent computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Proficiency with accounting software - knowledge of Microsoft Navision a plus
  • Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in English is essential; fluency in French, German, Spanish is desirable.
