With Ethernet as the option of choice for WAN connectivity, Cogent offers two slightly different flavours for Ethernet WAN point-to-point connectivity: the Wave service option allocating bandwidth from the Cogent DWDM infrastructure and the Ethernet L2 service option allocating bandwidth from the Cogent routed/switched platform. When confronted to the choice between these two options, many customers often benefit from Cogent experience with such technical design.
