Compensation: [Starting / Initial] Base Salary Pay Range: $65,000-$90,000/yr.
Specific offers within the listed pay ranges are determined by a variety of factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and business needs.
Responsibilities:
Cogent Communications is seeking a Data Center Operations Manager in the Nashville, TN area. Travel within cities will be required.
- Keep the assigned Cogent datacenters operational and alarm free
- Provisioning and turn-up customer orders (Rack, power, cross-connects)
- Select, manage and train vendors on datacenter related activities
- Coordinate datacenter activity with NOC and Datacenter Engineering
- Setup regular maintenance works
- Respond to problems that require a dispatch to a site and work with support until problems are solved, these dispatches may be out of business hours
- Ability to work flexible hours based on facility maintenance requirements
- Travel to other data centers sites in different cities
- Perform physical labor as required
Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ experience with datacenter operations or telecommunications network environment
- Knowledge of critical equipment in the data center (Electrical, HVAC systems, Fire systems, Power systems – UPS, Switch, Diesel Generators)
- Experience managing vendors and contractors and work several projects in parallel and
- High-energy individual with interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
- Project management experience
- Maintaining and documenting information to keep inventory up to date
- Must be flexible to respond to urgent events when they occur
- Reside within the Nashville area
