About Cogent and PSINet

Cogent acquired the majority of the U.S. operations of PSINet, Inc., the first commercial Internet service company ever established. On March 27th, 2002 the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York approved Cogent's acquisition, clearing the way for Cogent to finalize documentation related to the closing. In this acquisition, Cogent acquires PSINet assets - including PSINet's customer base, backbone network and associated equipment and rights to intellectual property.

PSINet Products and Services Offered:

Dedicated Internet Access: high-speed symmetric and fully dedicated Internet access services, targeted at traditional corporations, delivered On-Net at selected locations (see below), or Off-Net at customer premises using access circuits local tails provided by local operators

IP Transit: high-speed symmetric and fully dedicated Internet access services, targeted at NetCentric businesses, delivered On-Net at selected locations (see below), or Off-Net at customer premises using local tails provided by local operators

Ethernet Point-to-Point: high-speed symmetric and fully dedicated Ethernet transport services, available nationally and internationally, delivered On-Net at selected locations (see below), or Off-Net at customer premises using local tails provided by local operators
