Title: Field Engineer

Location: Madrid, Spain

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for fiber optics network field activity, Long haul and metro, Transport and Routers
• Implementation of long haul and metro network augmentation, coordination and installation
• Work with Network Planning to provide Field perspective to network deployment as well as to provide expertise in deployments.
• Organize projects with contractors and internal staff

Qualifications: travel by car and/or plane 20%+of time, remote office the rest of the time, at least 5+ years’ experience on telecommunication networks

Required

• Working knowledge on telecom infrastructure.
• Experience in the use of optical test equipment: power meters, OTDRs, OSAs, and interpretation of test results
• Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• High-energy individual with interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate peers, and drive project to completion
• Field experience in DWDM / SDH / IP networks

Desired

• Experience managing vendors and carriers
• Successful project management experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience, certifications, or training

Reporting: This position reports to the Field Engineering Director in United Kingdom
