Cogent Celebrates Great Success at 151 Front Street in Toronto
TORONTO, ON, May 6, 2004 - Cogent Communications, a multinational Tier One, optical Internet service provider, today announced it has connected Cogent's dedicated IP-only global network to over 45 customers in the 151 Front Street Data Center. Several of these customers are located within the facilities of other 151 Front Street tenants like Switch and Data, whose cooperation has helped to make Toronto Cogent's 4th largest market. As a result of this success, Cogent will be sponsoring a celebration party at the 151 Front Street location.
Cogent's high-speed Internet access service is delivered in Toronto by Cogent's wholly-owned subsidiary Shared Technologies of Canada (STOC), which Cogent acquired in early 2002.
For a flat monthly price of $5,000 CAD, service provider customers in Toronto receive a 100 Megabits-per-second (Mbps) dedicated, non-oversubscribed Internet access connection.
"In today's competitive market place, quality service and on-time delivery are key to our customers' success," said Randy Douglas, Toronto Site Manager for Switch and Data. "Cogent has always been a key player in contributing to this level of outstanding service."
"In 2002 Cogent realized the opportunity the Toronto market represented and we opened our first office here," said Steve McGill, General Manager of the Toronto office. "Our relationship with Switch and Data will ensure we are able to continually meet the growing needs of this important market."
Cogent Communications and Switch and Data are taking part in a celebration/informational open house on Thursday, May 13th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the 51 Front Street West building in Toronto. This event will help highlight the combined strength that Cogent and Switch and Data bring to the table as a solution for safe, reliable connectivity at a value that can not be beat.
