Cogent Coummunications is looking for experienced Account Managers in Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, Madrid and Paris to augment its rapid growth in Europe.

Cogent is seeking Account Managers to work in Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, Madrid and Paris. This position will be responsible for sales and account development as part of the Regional Sales Team.
Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business and managing the subsequent relationship with customers and prospects,
- Carry a personal sales target/quota,
- Proactively and creatively identify and solve client problems and provide solutions.
- Manage a pan European sales support team including Sales Engineering, Product Management, Marketing and Techinical Support.
- Implement sales tactics and strategies to ensure that sales targets are exceeded.
- Have a thorough understanding of the local IP market and competitor offerings.
Person Specifications:
- The passion to sell.
- A minimum of 3 years recent telecommunications sales experience preferable.
- Ability to work independently is essential. Candidates will be expected to be able to pro-actively prospect new leads in new markets and vertical sectors.
- Energetic and self motivated individual, who is a self-starter with experience and desire to acquire new business.
- A-Levels/Baccalaureate or above preferred.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate success in similar roles within a wholesale service provider/telecom environment. Proven ability to close sales to ISP and telecom customers is highly advantageous.
We are looking for people who can develop their own leads, who can work as a trusted advisor to the customer and who can deal with a challenging sales cycle.

NOC ENGINEER
MISSION:
Monitoring and management of the Pan-European Cogent network and assurance of the service level based on the established standard procedures as well as customer support either on technical issues or on information distribution.
The NOC Engineer will join the NOC team of Cogent Communications in Madrid to operate it 24x7.
JOB DUTIES
Monitoring of the SDH/DWDM and IP networks so as to provide high service availability and ensure Cogent SLAs are met.
Provide 1st line customer and technical support for all layer 1, 2 and 3 services provided by Cogent, interacting with Cogent customers via phone and e-mail in order to resolve their service issues, respond to their technical questions and achieve customer satisfaction.
Monitor all customer services and Cogent European Network using management tools and systems provided for this purpose and following standard Operational procedures.
Ensure that network and customers issues are accurately documented in the trouble ticketing system.
Interact effectively with all members of the Cogent Operations team as well as providers to ensure swift resolution of network and customer issues.
Management of internal and vendor planned maintenances impacting Cogent European Network.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Good verbal and written communications skills.
The ideal candidate must possess a B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
At least 2 years of working experience in a similar position at a network operator.
Knowledge of transmission networks based on SDH and DWDM Nortel Networks equipment together with the Preside management system will be taken into account. (plus)
Cisco equipment experience and certifications (CCNA/CCNP) will be highly valued.
Good technical knowledge in the area of networking (TCP/IP), IP protocols (BGP, IGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS…), IP addressing, DNS’s and IP-VPN’s
Excellent problem solving skills.
Customer focused and eager to learn.
Team player worker and capable to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
Availability to work on shifts under a 24x7 basis. (Flexibility a MUST)
Fluent in Spanish and English, knowledge of other European languages would be an asset.
