Cogent Extends Network Connectivity in London

London, February 7, 2005 - Cogent Communications Group, Inc. (AMEX: COI), one of the fastest growing multinational Tier 1 Internet service providers, today announced that it has established a presence in one of Redbus Interhouse (UK) Limited's London colocation facilities. Redbus Interhouse is one of Europe's most advanced, independent colocation and data centre service providers.

Maximizing Cogent's reach to service-provider customers in London is extremely important to Cogent's international expansion plans. By building a presence in Redbus Interhouse's data centre, Cogent can reach new customers through quick and cost effective cross connects. This additional London presence affords Cogent the opportunity to expand sales of its extensive portfolio of highly reliable, competitively priced Tier 1 products and services, including Internet transit services and IP (Internet Protocol) Transport products such as VPNs (Virtual Private Networks).

"Cogent has rapidly entered the European market and is generating a significant amount of interest in the market by offering reliable bandwidth at highly competitive price points," said Simon Neal, UK Country Manager, Redbus Interhouse (UK) Ltd. "We wish Cogent well in their drive to become one of the top providers of Internet access in Europe and look forward to forging a long-term relationship in our state-of-the-art facilities."

Cogent's network spans 49,000 kilometers in over 85 markets in 11 countries throughout Europe and North America. Cogent continues to focus on adding customers and revenue to the network, to make it even more competitive and efficient.

"Historically, Cogent has gained good acceptance in colocation facilities, signing up to 50% of customers at third party facilities. Looking at the high quality of Redbus Interhouse's customers and the value that Redbus Interhouse delivers, this has all the makings of a very successful relationship for Cogent," said Dave Schaeffer, CEO of Cogent Communications.

Cogent sought a location with a state-of-the-art data centre and a proven reputation with other carriers. Cogent selected Redbus Interhouse's colocation facility based on their reputation for reliability and their technical expertise.

Cogent has quickly established a significant presence throughout Europe through the completion of several critical acquisitions, including LambdaNet France and Spain and Global Access in Germany. Cogent has also generated organic growth through sales by offering its high quality Internet and data services at prices that Cogent believes are among the lowest offered in Europe.
